Residencies in Pakistan

ChrysArte develops residency opportunities for international artists to work and spend time in Pakistan.

The programme brings artists into different artistic, cultural and geographical contexts across the country, while providing time and space for their own practice. 

Each residency session takes place in a different location and is developed around the character and possibilities of that particular setting.

The programme provides accommodation, workspace and a structured introduction to the local artistic and cultural context, with the exact programme adapted to each location.

What ChrysArte Provides

Each residency is designed to give artists the practical support and local access needed to make the most of their time in Pakistan.

Depending on the individual session, ChrysArte provides:

Accommodation
Accommodation for the full residency period.

Working Space
A dedicated space for artists to work during their stay.

Local Programme
Curated visits to galleries, museums, exhibitions, studios, cultural sites and other places relevant to the location.

Artist Connections
Introductions and opportunities to meet Pakistani artists, curators and other members of the local art community.

Cultural Visits
Opportunities to experience the local culture and surroundings beyond the residency space.

Local Support
ChrysArte support throughout the residency, including orientation and assistance with the local programme.

Documentation
Photographic documentation of the residency and selected programme activities.

Presentation
Where appropriate to the individual session, an open studio, artist talk or presentation of the residents' practices.

ChrysArte Pakistan Residency

A fully managed 6-week residency bringing artists into the heart of Pakistan’s contemporary art scene, with dedicated studio time, curatorial mentorship and cultural immersion.

Locations

ChrysArte does not operate from a single permanent residency site.

Each session is hosted in a different location in Pakistan, allowing artists to experience different artistic, cultural and geographical contexts across the country.
